WHAT TO BRING

The following items are required for all band camps.

· 2010-2011 Travel Permission Form

· Your instrument and all necessary supplies.  (Woodwinds should have at least two good reeds—Vandoren or better—at all times.)

· All members (including returning members but minus drummers) must purchase and bring a lyre and flip folder on the first day of camp.  These may be purchased at Carlton’s Music.

· A 2-quart cooler of water for breaks.  You may purchase one with the band logo from the band when you come to camp!

· There will be a 30-minute lunch break at our camps.  You WILL NOT be allowed to leave campus for liability reasons.  SO… plan on bringing a bag lunch with you.

· Sneakers and socks.  No flip flops or sandals will be allowed on the practice field all year.  In addition, you are asked to tie your “skater-dude” shoes tightly.

· Bring sunscreen, sunglasses, hats, etc. for our outside rehearsals.  You must wear shorts.  No long pants will be allowed at outside rehearsals all year.

· All brass players must have a “spit rag” for indoor rehearsals.

· Bring all of your music and, most importantly, a PENCIL!

· Come back having learned your music at home.

· ALL MEMBERS must attend band camp, lest you lose your potential spot in the show.

11TH ANNUAL REHEARSE-A-THON

The best way to get your fair share off to a good start is to get plenty of sponsors for this year’s annual Rehearse-A-Thon.  Pledge cards were distributed at the “Get Acquainted Day” at the end of school so that you could use the entire summer to get pledges.  Get enough pledges and you will have your entire Fair Share completed before school even starts!  The 11th annual Rehearse-A-Thon will be held at WHHS on Saturday, August 21st from 8:00 AM until 6:00 PM.  All marching band members are required to attend, as it will be considered an extra day of rehearsal to get our show ready.  So, you might as well get some sponsors and make money while you work.  Extra cards can be found here online.  Good luck!
